It looks like being another frenetic close-season of activity on the transfer market, with British and Southern Hemisphere stars flocking to Top 14, along with a few returning French players keen to take advantage of the strong euro, good wines and superb cuisine. Okay, the last two might not be deciding factors, but hey, it all adds up to an attractive package.

We'll also be keeping an eye on ambitious Racing-Métro 92, soon to join Top 14 and with a bundle of blank cheques just waiting to be written. Lionel Nallet, Sébastien Chabal have already been signed and Francois Steyn remains in their sights.

Rumour has it there could also be a few of Australia's top rugby league stars keen to cash in and follow the likes of Luke Rooney, Craig Gower and Sonny Bill Williams in Top 14.

And what about another Dan Carter-style "sabbatical" for want-away All Blacks or Wallabies?
